Each DoDDS school develops a plan to improve the educational program offered to its students. The faculty assesses children's academic and social needs, sets goals toward meeting those needs, and determines the resources available. A committee of faculty members and parents guides this process of school improvement, monitoring and assessing progress toward goal attainment.

During the 2007-2008 school year, the Sollars community determined our continuous school improvement goals to be:

GOAL 1 ~ Literacy - Written Communication
All students will use written communication skills across the curriculum.
Essence ~ All students will use written and/or symbolic communication skills appropriately to express their ideas..

GOAL 2 ~ Critical Thinking - Questioning
All students will use questioning skills to enhance their critical thinking across the curriculum.
Essence ~ All students will develop, use and respond to questions that enhance their critical thinking skills.
