The student body of the 2004-2005 school year voted to change our school mascot to the dragon. A local artist (and former teacher at Sollars), worked with the school to design our new dragon mascot. We researched the characteristics of the dragon in Japanese culture and found many qualities we hope to instill in our students at Sollars.

Creativity, Persistence, Courage, Wisdom, Integrity and Strength are qualitites consistently associated with the dragon in Japanese culture.
